The Voices of the Land Safari is a deeply immersive journey into the landscapes, cultures, and traditions of northern Botswana. Over six days, guests explore the pristine waterways of the Okavango Panhandle, traditional village life in Etsha 13, and the sacred Tsodilo Hills — a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient rock art and spiritual significance.

This six-day safari begins in Shakawe, where guests travel into the Okavango Panhandle and experience the waterways by mokoro canoe and boat. After camping on a remote island and exploring the surrounding Delta environment, the journey continues to the village of Etsha 13 for a cultural encounter.

The final part of the safari explores the sacred Tsodilo Hills, where guests hike through dramatic landscapes, learn about ancient rock art, and experience the cultural heritage of one of Botswana’s most important historical sites.

Day 01 :

Day 1 – Arrival in Shakawe

Guests arrive at Shakawe Airport and transfer to Shamaningu campsite. After lunch and some time to relax, the afternoon includes a nature walk or mokoro excursion through the Delta waterways. The evening concludes with dinner and time to relax under the African sky.

Day 02 :

Day 2 – Marula Island

An early start begins with breakfast before travelling to Guma. From here guests take a traditional mokoro canoe to Marula Island where camp is set up. The afternoon includes a walking safari or mokoro excursion to observe wildlife such as hippos. In the evening guests enjoy a presentation about the formation of the Okavango Delta followed by dinner.

Day 03 :

Day 3 – Village Visit & Delta Activities

After breakfast guests return by mokoro to the mainland and travel by safari vehicle to Etsha 13 village. A guided village walk offers insight into local culture and daily life. Lunch is enjoyed along the river before returning to Shamaningu campsite for relaxation and afternoon activities such as mokoro excursions, boat rides, or nature walks.

Day 04 :

Day 4 – Journey to Tsodilo Hills

After breakfast guests travel to Tsodilo Hills. Morning coffee is enjoyed upon arrival before beginning guided walks through the hills. After lunch and rest at the campsite, guests experience Bushman cultural entertainment before dinner.

Day 05 :

Day 5 – Exploring Tsodilo Hills

The day begins with a guided hike through the hills and exploration of the rock art sites. After lunch and rest, afternoon trails lead to sunset viewpoints overlooking the landscape. In the evening guests enjoy dinner and stargazing beneath the clear desert skies.

Day 06 :

Day 6 – Departure

After breakfast guests depart for Shakawe Airport with a stop along the way for morning coffee. Guests are sent off with a packed lunch for their onward journey.
